Hey Kids,

Soooo, I saw a handful of stand-up comedians & one slam poet this past Saturday night at the newly renovated, historical & beautiful I-Hotel. It was a great, mellow night while it was drizzling away outside on Jackson Street...

Anyway, I thought Jason Bayani was pretty fantastic, esp. performance-wise & wanted to share his last piece of the night - if you ever hear of him, catch him live but I thought this was a "realistic" love poem esp. if you're a struggling artist :) This one made me laugh outloud - again, the poem reads hilarious when Jason performs it...here's his bio,too if you haven't heard of him...

I want you to imagine
incense and burning candles
that I found in the discount bin of my local
Old Navy.
I want you to imagine
Barry White playing on the stereo
and you in that pretty little red dress
I bought you at Ross.

I want to tell you things
and whisper in your ear sweet nothings
except they'll be something
because they'll be things being said
they are sweet things
for my sweet butterscotch flavored dandelion.

Now I know your looking at those electric candles
and your thinking to yourself
this guy must be to cheap to keep buying real
candles
but baby it's for your protection.
I'm your sensitivity Smith and Wesson
paper plates and plastic utensils are my way of
saying
less time for me dishwashing
more time for me and you to be beast with two backs
making.

But enough about that, let's talk about you
let's talk about the all things I want to do to you.

First we will sip on some fine
Martini Rossi and Asti champagne.
I've prepared special succulent hor' dourves
for your consumption
mini corndogs
taquitos
those pizzas that are made on mini-bagels

And after we are through sipping on our fine Martini
Rossi and Asti
champagne
I've prepared a special Filipino delicacy
Of Rice
Eggs
and Spam
and don't worry about the wine baby
drink as much Chablis as you desire
because I got another box sitting in my cabinet!

Aw yeah
Is your mouth watering too?
I'm so hungry
hungry for you

All I can think about
Is laying you out on my 100otton sheets
and bedecking your naked body with fine
scented oils from the Orient.
And by Orient I mean
my cousin's boutique in Stockton.
Technically that is the Orient
because Orient kinda means east
and Stockton is east of where we are

So like I said I'm gonna rub these
fine scented oils into your naked body
while playing my special slow jam mix CD
featuring three songs by the
underrated and underappreciated DeBarge family
and we will make love
to "Time Will Reveal"
and maybe even "Rhythm of the Night"

Girl I want to swim within the Ocean of your thighs
I want to drown in your juices.
Oh sweet honeycomb part of a complete nutritious
breakfast!

so much so that my eyes
fill with cries
and I realize

I'm pretty fucking broke
